$1,000,000 of community support per year starting in 2017
Contrary to what many think, the NWAWS only receives about 17% of its total funding from state and federal government sources. The remainder must be raised in our community. We do this through our Thrift Store (roughly 20% of our gross annual income) as well as fundraising events, individual & business giving, and foundation grants. Currently we must raise $60,000 per month from the community (excluding the Thrift Store and government grants) to meet our needs. Historically, we have failed to communicate this need to the community.
What can I do? Give.
There are many different ways you can help our Shelter. Please review the giving options below. If you have additional questions, please contact us. Your assistance and support are greatly appreciated.
“We are safe here. My children and I can go to sleep and not be afraid. The Shelter provides a support system to help us rebuild our foundation when our house (our life) has crumbled.”
– Shelter Client
The Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter exists to provide a safe haven for women, children, and men who are escaping the trauma of domestic and sexual violence. We work each day to support victims of violence on their journeys to build lives free of violence . . . for themselves and their families, now and in the future.
Your monthly gift of $50 when you join the “Builders of Hope” helps women, children, and men as they take the first step to begin rebuilding their lives, without the fear of abuse or physical violence.
Thank you for joining “Builders of Hope” with a recurring, monthly gift of $50!
Donating to the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter will transform not only the lives of victims of violence right here in your community, it will also transform your life.
Becoming a donor gives you a direct role in building a more peaceful community. You will receive insider information about the NWA Women’s Shelter and updates on how the shelter has served the community and, most importantly, you will learn and understand what your donation has accomplished. We are committed to transparency and accountability to our donors.
Your donations are vital to us. We rely on financial gifts from the community to support our services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Because we are a temporary home for hundreds of adults and children each year, we need all the things any home would use. We are happy to accept your donations of food, toiletries, and clothing.
All donations are accepted at the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter Thrift Store from 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday. The thrift store is located at 1622 S 8th St, Rogers AR 72756.
Any donations that cannot be used in the Shelter will be sold at our thrift store. All proceeds from the thrift store go to support the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter.
Please call (479) 621-6116 for more information about donating to the NWAWS Thrift Store or (479) 246-0353 ext. 250 for information about donating items directly to the shelter.
Thank you for your interest in hosting a third-party fundraising event or drive to benefit the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter (NWAWS)!
Third-Party Events are any activity by an individual, organization, or group that raises money or collects items for NWAWS with little to no involvement of the NWAWS staff.
Because of the volume of these requests, we cannot personally participate in each event that is proposed, but we can help promote the event and provide materials, when feasible.
We greatly appreciate your support of our clients and programs!
Whether as a one-time donor, or a monthly sustaining donor, your support (no matter the size) counts. Donate online, mail a check, or call to make a donation over the phone. Even $25 a month adds up. That would provide three safe nights each year ($25×12=$300).
If 1,000 people in NWA gave this amount it would total $300,000 in one year. Even the smallest donations can make the biggest differences.
