About

Our Mission, Vision, and Four Pillars of Service

At the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter, our mission is to provide shelter and support at any hour for those affected by domestic violence in our community.

Ultimately, our vision is to break the cycle of domestic violence in NWA, and we hope to achieve this through our four pillars of service:

  1. 24-hour emergency hotline
  2. Temporary Shelter
  3. Advocacy and support through client services
  4. Community engagement and education

Our Core Values

When serving people in crisis, we are dedicated to providing the best, most comprehensive care. We recognize clients are so much more than the abuse they have experienced, their identities are much more complex. Our core values reflect this and shape the way our organization functions.

Empowerment: giving others respect, responsibility and the power to control the choices they make.

Integrity: offering transparency and honesty to our supporters, as well as being ethical in all our interactions.

Excellence: producing our best work for the betterment of the community

Collaboration: striving to understand and incorporate diverse perspectives to better accomplish a common goal

Compassion: being aware of and actively expressing genuine concern about the needs of others
