Michelle’s Story:
Michelle’s abuser used substances to maintain power and control in their relationship. After an altercation with her abuser and her abuser’s mother left her physically and emotionally injured, she sought support and services at our shelter. While in-shelter Michelle created goals for herself to set a course for a new life, including securing a safe home for herself and her children.
